Review: Tantus T-Rex

The T-Rex has been on my wish list for a long time.  I make no secret of the fact that I’m a girth enthusiast, and this is one of the thickest toys available from Tantus.  The T-Rex measures up at 6 insertable inches and a solid 2.25 inches wide.  I use the word “solid” for a reason… this is some seriously firm silicone, people.  The firmness makes it feel larger than it actually is.  For example, Pedro the Cactus reaches 2.75 inches in diameter, but feels gentler to me because that silicone has so much give.

The T-Rex is available in purple or black, and I must say that the purple is magnificent.  The head is glossy and shimmery, while the shaft is a velvety smooth matte texture.  It has a harness compatible base, and comes with an appropriately sized O-ring.  The balls and flared base make this toy anal-safe as well, though my own inexperienced rear cowers in terror at the thought.

The head of the T-Rex is wide, with a large coronal ridge.  I do enjoy the feeling of it popping in, but it’s best taken slowly.  In addition to the firmness, this ridge is abrupt rather than rounded.  It’s much too intense for rapid thrusting, in my opinion.  It took me several rounds of testing this toy to find a technique that resulted in orgasms rather than overstimulation and frustration.  In the end, my preferred method for using the T-Rex was paired with my Liberator Bonbon.  The weight and firmness that make it uncomfortable as a thrusting toy work nicely for straddling/riding.  When I can position that ridge against my G-spot for a slow ride, it rubs just right and goes from harsh to heavenly.  The relatively short insertable length is also well-suited to riding, avoiding the possibility of uncomfortable cervix poking.

Like all Tantus toys, the T-Rex is 100% body safe silicone.  Soap and water are fine for day-to-day cleaning, boiling or a 10% bleach solution can be used to sterilize the toy.  You may need to give some special attention to the ridge behind the head while cleaning, but this isn’t a major issue.

The T-Rex is unlikely to be a go-to toy for me, it’s just too much for everyday use.  But when I’m in the mood for something different, something intense, then it definitely fits the bill.  If you enjoy firm toys, girth and the G-spot stimulation of a pronounced head, the T-Rex might be a good addition to your toy box as well.  If you’re looking for something girth but a bit less extreme, you should check out the Raptor XL.

The T-Rex was provided free of charge by Tantus in exchange for an honest review.

I love that this is tagged pop goes the dildo. 😀 That pop is quite intense and even though I can take larger, the T-Rex is a bit overwhelming. Good review!

I’m so glad someone noticed that tag…I was really proud of that one! The T-Rex definitely feels bigger than it looks, and that’s saying something. Thanks for dropping by and commenting!
